Birmingham 2022’s Youth Programme will activate, facilitate and celebrate children and young people, providing opportunities for them to be the leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
Birmingham is Europe’s Youngest City with over 40% of the population under 25. The Youth Programme will give young people a voice, help them to be able to make a positive difference, and be ready to tackle life’s challenges.
Nearly 1 million children and young people experienced the impact of COVID-19 on their education, mental and physical health. The Youth Programme will engage at least 1 million children and young people aged 5-25 across Birmingham and the West Midlands with Birmingham 2022.
The Youth Programme will complement the curriculum to widen knowledge, improve access to sports, art and culture while helping to boost confidence and resilience. By supporting children and young people to acquire new skills, Birmingham 2022 offers them a once in a lifetime chance to expand horizons and learn from others.
