Birmingham City Council
Birmingham 2022 are collaborating with Birmingham City Council to deliver some incredible opportunities throughout 2022. The focus is on activity that deepens the engagement experience for Schools & Community Youth Organisations through increased access to Games Assets. Four youth centres have been chosen as hubs to promote and celebrate the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The Lighthouse (Aston), The Factory (Longbridge), The Concord (Sparkbrook) and the Clifton Road (Sutton Coldfield). They will be the heartbeat of activity and provision for young people in the community in the build-up to the games.
Birmingham Children’s Trust
Birmingham Children’s Trust ‘Unlocking the Games’ With funding from the Commonwealth Sport Foundation, Birmingham Children’s Trust are providing a range of meaningful activities across Birmingham in 2022. They aim to bring together families, friends new and old and communities, by offering an environment where activities can take place in a safe space. Partners, groups and performers will come together creating a CWG-themed buzz in the build-up to the games. Four flagship hubs will see large events take place throughout the year for children in care, care leavers and young people and adults known to the trust. Each hub will take place at a young person-friendly and iconic Birmingham building, to showcase what the City has to offer to its young people and what our buildings can aspire to be like going forward after the Games.
