Common Ground is project with a PSHE learning focus for secondary schools in Birmingham, in partnership with Birmingham City Council. It will foster cultural collaboration, facilitate conversation, and promote student leadership opportunities to build a lasting Games legacy in Birmingham schools.
We are providing an opportunity for all secondary schools in Birmingham to apply for a grant of £1,000 to support their involvement in the Common Ground project.
As hosts of the Commonwealth Games this pivotal time offers us an opportunity to reflect and share what it means to be part of the Commonwealth in 2022. This grant is to act as a catalyst and space for young people to hold conversations about our ‘Common Ground’ and to extend that conversation into a creative response. We anticipate that they will take the form of short films, shared food, conversation, photography, song, dance, visual art, spoken word and installations. The application process for the Common Ground Grant is now closed.
