Bring the Power, Birmingham 2022’s Youth Programme, is inviting young people aged 4 to 14 to send in good luck artwork and letters to welcome athletes to the Commonwealth Games this summer.
A selection of artwork and letters will be rewarded with some fantastic prizes.
- Schools and youth groups in the Birmingham and West Midlands region are eligible to take part in both the letter writing and artwork challenges.
- Schools and youth groups across England are eligible to take part in the artwork challenge.
The deadline for entries to both challenges is Friday 13 May 2022.
The Good Luck Letter Challenge

What is it?
Young people are invited to send in good luck letters for the athletes competing in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The letters will be placed in the athlete welcome packs which athletes receive when they arrive at the Games.

How to Enter
1. Download our fantastic challenge resources and watch the film to launch the challenge and get your young people excited about the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
2. Ask young people to write their letters using the Good luck letter template.
3. Enter the letters into the challenge by completing the postal entry form and posting the letters and form to us at the address below (ideally packaged in a boxed parcel) to arrive by Friday 13 May 2022:

Prizes
- 50 schools or youth groups will receive a set of 40 tickets to the dress rehearsal of the Birmingham 2022 opening ceremony.
- One lucky school or youth group will receive a visit from an athlete.
- The first 25 teachers or youth leaders to submit entries will receive an exclusive Birmingham 2022 poster.
The Good Luck Artwork Challenge

What is it?
All schools and youth groups, including those in Birmingham and the West Midlands, are eligible to take part in the Good luck artwork challenge.
Young people are invited to get creative and send in good luck artwork for the athletes. The artwork will be used to create a display in the Athlete Villages.

2. Ask young people to create their artwork using the Good luck artwork template.
3. Upload the artwork using the online entry form by Friday 13 May 2022.
