In Summer 2022, Birmingham hosted the XXII Commonwealth Games, the largest major event to be held in England since the 2012 Olympics.

Wrapped around the Commonwealth Games, the Birmingham 2022 Festival was a six-month celebration of creativity in the city which demonstrated that when sport and culture come together, they achieve more than the sum of their parts.  Audacious, playful and inclusive, the Festival empowered people from Birmingham and beyond to experience a world-class cultural event that showcased talent and creativity on a global stage.

Birmingham 2022 Festival has now released nine independently-produced reports available in four formats,  to evaluate the successes, learnings and impact of the vibrant and dynamic six-month cultural programme. These reports, which include the evaluation of individual projects and initiatives during the festival, promise to cement Birmingham’s reputation as an international city of cultural and creative excellence.
