Birmingham city centre will be busy throughout the Games, and will be hosting a Festival Site in Victoria Square where people will be able to enjoy free entertainment.

Victoria Square will also host the finish line for the Marathon, taking place on Saturday 30 July.

Due to the activity in the area there will be some changes to operations on the road network, and will particularly affect deliveries for business on or around New Street.

What this means

The map below shows the roads that will have changed restrictions.

Premises on these roads will not be able to receive deliveries between 7am and midnight from Wednesday 27 July until Monday 8 August.

These restrictions are being introduced to ensure the Games, Festival Sites and other activities can operate safely for spectators, staff, visitors, businesses and residents.

With prior agreement from Colmore and Central Business Improvement Districts, and coordinated by them, a small number of businesses will be able to receive perishable deliveries between 7am and 9am.

Please note: There is an exception on Saturday 30 July, as there will be road closures from 2.30am to facilitate the Marathon route, when no vehicle deliveries will be possible.
