Prohibited items are not allowed to be taken into a venue and access will not be permitted to anyone in possession of a prohibited item.

Prohibited items must be disposed of prior to entering the venue. Storage will not be available for prohibited items.

Prohibited items include:

  • Any item that is illegal to carry or possess under UK Law
  • Offensive weapons, knives, martial arts weapons, batons, unless tools of the trade. Exceptions: Kirpan when present with other Sikh articles of faith. Sgian-dubh worn as part of traditional Scottish dress.
  • Firearms: including hoax or replica items
  • Incapacitant sprays (e.g. pepper spray)
  • Offensive messaging: via any materials such as clothing, banners, posters or flags
  • Alcoholic beverages: Prohibited, unless purchased or supplied from within the venue
  • Flags of non-competing nations with the exception of the CGF agreed flags eg Union flag, LGBTQ
  • Noise making devices except at agreed venues
  • Clothing, items, or signage with the likely purpose of ambush marketing
  • Bicycles and other items with wheels exception: mobility scooters and other wheeled mobility aids
  • Portable oxygen cylinders unless for medical use only
  • Glass bottles or containers
  • Laser pointers, strobe lights and similar emitting devices
  • Protect items and materials unless authorised by the Organising Committee or West Midlands Police
  • Drones, radio transmitters, walkie talkies, radio scanners or radio jamming devices
  • Balls, rackets, frisbees or similar objects or projectiles, including inflatables

Restricted items may be taken into a venue but may not be used in any way that negatively impacts on the safety, security or comfort of others. You may be removed from the venue if you do not comply with the instructions given by venue personnel with regard to the use of a restricted item.

Restricted items include:

  • Food: Limited amount for personal consumption and non-commercially branded. Reasonable amounts of baby food, milk and formula.
  • Beverage containers: one full, sealed, or resealable plastic or metal beverage container, not exceeding 1L in volume.
  • Liquids, aerosols, creams and gels: Limited to 100ml non-glass containers.
  • Bags: One per person, not exceeding 25L capacity.
  • Umbrellas, selfie sticks: Used in areas that are not inhibiting the view of competition or training activities.
  • Blades of any size: only permitted when tools of the trade, i.e. chef knives
  • Animals: with the exception of certified assistance dogs.
  • Chairs, folding chairs, stadium seats, allowed when required for a disability or injury.
  • Prams/baby carriers, but not allowed in seating areas
  • Flags of competing countries, Union flag, LGBTQ - max size 0.5M x 1M
  • Medicines: Medically prescribed in quantity for individual personal use, commercially packages, and labelled with contents
  • Flammable substances, liquids and fuel. Cigarette lights and matches permitted.
