Are you with us?
Applications are open now for the Birmingham 2022 community programme, and we want you to join us.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games will shine a light on Birmingham and the West Midlands, putting our vibrant city and region on a global stage.
The West Midlands is a community of communities being home to people from more than 180 countries, and we want to recognise projects that share our vision and mission as we work towards the largest event of this kind ever to be staged in the region…
THE BIRMINGHAM 2022 MISSION
These Games will embrace and champion the youth, diversity, humanity and pride of the region and the Commonwealth.
Improve health and wellbeing
Inspire, engage and connect communities and athletes to realise their full potential and live happier, healthier lives.
Help the region to grow and succeed
Drive sustainable growth and aspiration; creating opportunities through trade, investment, jobs, volunteering and skills.
Be a catalyst for change
Transform and strengthen local communities, working together to deliver new and improved homes, facilities and transport links.
Put us on the global stage
Deliver an unforgettable, global Games in partnership, on time and on budget to showcase the best of Birmingham, the West Midlands and the Commonwealth.
The role of the community programme is to recognise projects that are delivered by grass-roots organisations that are having a positive impact on the communities that they serve across a diverse range of subjects. These include but are not limited to projects that; aim to improve skills, offer training, provide volunteering resource, benefit the environment, encourage participation in sport, or deliver youth engagement activities.
Successful project applications will be promoted on the Birmingham 2022 website and projects will be able to use, under licence, the new programme logo (subject to strict usage guidelines being followed) to amplify their activity in their communications.
If you know a worthy community cause, let them know about United by Birmingham 2022 today!
The United by Birmingham 2022 programme is for exceptional projects that support our mission. We award the licence to project and not to the organisation.
