Coventry Moves
Coventry City Council
This project will focus on 3 areas – parks, care homes & street closures. Approaches will be collaborative and have an emphasis on engagement first, rather than physical activity at the initial stage.
All areas will take the target audiences on a journey to improve their physical & mental wellbeing. Our intention is for a hyper local approach to run before, during & after games time activation, by providing a platform to showcase the activation and participation of communities & street focused projects or by connecting to city wide programmes. The Commonwealth Active Communities Fund through Sport England is managed by Coventry City Council in partnership with the Coventry Sport & Physical Activity Network.
Following the pandemic, the effects of isolation across the city have compounded inequalities, exacerbating pre-existing barriers to physical activity and creating new challenges.
