
Sport Relief All Star Games: Birmingham 2022
Two teams from the world of sport and entertainment will begin competing in front of live Birmingham 2022 crowds today (1 August), for the Sport Relief All Star Games: Birmingham 2022.
Sport Relief, Birmingham 2022 and the BBC are coming together to bring you a one off, All-Star version of the Commonwealth Games.
The first All Star Games action will take place today (1 August);
- at Smithfield, ahead of the 3pm Basketball 3x3 and Wheelchair Basketball 3x3 session
- then at Lee Valley Velopark, after the 2pm Cycling – Track and Para Track session finishes
Ticket holders to these events will get to watch the two teams of celebrities and sporting legends take on these sports live.
Everyone else can watch the sporting action in a special 1-hour programme which will be broadcast just before the Birmingham 2022 Closing Ceremony on Monday 8 August on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer at 7pm. This programme will be hosted by Emma Willis and Jermaine Jenas.
The other All Star Games action taking place this week is:
- at The NEC, on Tuesday 2 August after the 11am Table Tennis and Para Table Tennis session finishes
- at Alexander Stadium on Thursday 4 August after the 10am Athletics and Para Athletics session finishes
- at Arena Birmingham on Friday 5 August after the 1pm Gymnastics – Rhythmic session finishes

Some of the competitors lacing up their trainers include former Love Island winner and presenter Kem Cetinay; former international rugby union player and model Thom Evans; comedian Russell Kane; TV personality and presenter Ferne McCann; former England Rugby Union and Lions star Ugo Monye; Queen of the Jungle and TV personality Vicky Pattison; double Paralympic Gold medal runner Jonnie Peacock; Olympic gold medal long jumper Greg Rutherford; triple Olympic and World champion gymnast Max Whitlock and many more.
The All Star Games will raise money for Sport Relief, who are teaming up with United by 2022 and the Commonwealth Sport Foundation this summer as the Birmingham 2022 Official Charity Partners. Together they are taking on important issues, including tackling inequality, improving mental health and helping young people to survive and thrive.
