We are looking for volunteer performers to join the biggest party of the summer - the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony.
- Applications open today (Friday 29 April) - if you are based in the West Midlands and are passionate about music, dance and can move to a beat, apply now to be in with a chance to be part of something spectacular this summer.
- Successful applicants will perform in front of a full capacity audience in Birmingham’s newly redeveloped Alexander Stadium in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
- Anyone 18 + with an interest in performance is encouraged to apply.
- Applications close on 15 May 2022 with auditions on the 21 and 22 May 2022.

Taking the lead on the Closing Ceremony is TAWBOX, BAFTA-nominated creative directors who have worked on spectacular showcases including Glastonbury and the BRIT’s. The team is calling for the most enthusiastic, outgoing, and dedicated local people to apply to be part of the show. Creative Director, Bronski said “Birmingham is a city like no other, and we can’t wait to showcase the talent, music and culture to the world. This is a huge event, and we are calling for huge enthusiasm from across the West Midlands to take part in a huge moment for an incredible city and county."
These volunteer performers will be at the heart of the Closing Ceremony, and aspiring talent can apply for one of up to 200 opportunities on offer. To be part of the cast, applicants must be able to participate in a movement and dance-based audition that will take place in Birmingham, 09:00 – 17:30, on Saturday 21 May and Sunday 22 May 2022. In addition, applicants must be able to commit to regular rehearsal sessions beginning in early July 2022, running all the way up to the Closing Ceremony on Monday 8 August.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 23:59 on Sunday 15 May 2022. To be eligible, applicants must be aged 18 years or older. Only one application per person will be accepted.
