Project Details

The Dream Big Desi Women project is focused on engaging and inspiring 2000 South Asian women from all walks of life to make a difference in their local community by helping children to experience cricket through ECB’s National programme.

The core value of our pioneering project is to unite and connect diverse communities by taking cricket directly to non-traditional environment, including faith and community centres. Implementing community led cricket programmes across Birmingham helps to drive visibility for underrepresented groups in our society, particularly women & girls and inspire the next generation to say ‘cricket is a game for me.’

With the 2022 Commonwealth Games highlighting the importance of helping the region to grow and succeed, Dream Big Desi Women offers all female activators the platform to develop their skills & knowledge through various opportunities such as mental health first aid course, basic first aid, umpiring and cricket coaching qualification. This gives a platform for many to upskill, improve their wellbeing & be a catalyst for change.
