Project Details

Positive Pathways successfully helps people with disabilities move into employment through intensive 6-week employability courses. These courses offer assistance with job opportunities and searches by arranging employer meet-n-greets and providing 1:1 mentoring, advice, and guidance from skilled, experienced advisors. Many of the advisors have disabilities themselves and act as role models to the people they are supporting.

Being unemployed negatively affects health, wellbeing, and life chances, and unemployment is much higher for people with disabilities often due to barriers to work such as transport, lack of qualifications, and workplace discrimination.

Positive Pathways helps overcome barriers and improve life chances with 70% of people that go through the program entering employment, volunteering or training. As a result, it's ideally placed to help the region to grow and succeed by creating opportunities through jobs, volunteering and skills development.
