Project Details

Sport Birmingham's Commonwealth Challenge aims to ensure that Birmingham's primary school children are as healthy and active as possible leading up to Birmingham 2022.

They have developed a free resource that signposts families to some great activity challenges. Some of the challenges are from local providers, and some link to the geography curriculum to help children learn about the countries/cultures that will be visiting Birmingham for the Games.

The resource, downloadable on the Sport Birmingham website, includes a map of the world with a 50-day virtual journey from Australia (the location of the previous Games) to Birmingham. Each challenge is listed underneath the map. To find out more about each challenge, you can click the relevant link in the description underneath the globe.

Progress across the globe at your own pace, and don't feel guilty if you skip a few days. You can also substitute your own favourite activities in if you like. Anything that gets the heart pumping and adheres to current government guidelines can count towards the Commonwealth Challenge.

Every family that completes all 50-days enters a prize draw for the following…

  • £350 worth of sports equipment for your child's school
  • A visit from a professional athlete when school returns
  • 3 x £50 Love2Shop vouchers for you to spend however you want
