Elmhurst Ballet School's outreach programme is made up of two streams; School Outreach and Community Outreach.
The school works with state sector schools to inspire an interest in ballet amongst young audiences who may never have considered or had access to ballet, either as a leisure activity or a career. The project is delivered directly in schools and consists of a series of engaging workshops, which include a performance piece and learning basic ballet movements. The community outreach programme delivers workshops to partner organisations such as care homes and hospitals, where residents may have few opportunities to experience dance.
Outreach workshops are delivered by final year Elmhurst Ballet Company (EBC) students and offer audiences a range of benefits, including the opportunity to learn more about dance and ballet, bring communities together and promote and encourage positive health and wellbeing.
