This project supports local migrant communities into volunteering. Volunteers are able to expand their networks and gain work experience while improving their employment, social and leadership skills.
Many migrants who live in our communities often do not get out and about, and this largely affects the females in migrant groups. Having had interest from different parts of the West Midlands, Genisys wants to expand their network and encourage organisations to accept volunteers into job roles as a placement, with the view to offering them training and employment.
It supports the ideals of the Birmingham 2022 mission - embracing and championing youth diversity, pride in the region and commonwealth - and will enable the region to grow and succeed, creating opportunities through volunteering and skills that lead to employment.
