Following a rigorous international tender process, RGS Events will be responsible for the sourcing, manufacturing, both international and local delivery and dissolution of all the furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) at the Games venues and athlete villages at Birmingham 2022. This remit includes product categories ranging from furniture through to appliances, transport elements and crowd control items which will be used across every venue and village at Birmingham 2022.
RGS Events will be applying relevant experience from many previous multi-sport events to help ensure all furniture, fixtures and equipment will be delivered on time and on budget. This is their third consecutive Commonwealth Games appointment, having been both an official provider and sponsor to the Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018 editions of the Commonwealth Games. RGS has been the major FF&E supplier to the London 2012, Rio 2016 and this year’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games.
In line with Birmingham 2022’s pledge to be the first ever carbon-neutral Commonwealth Games, RGS Events will be providing an FF&E solution that has sustainability and legacy at its core. Through its commitment relating to carbon offsetting, single use packaging reduction, waste recycling and a dissolution programme that ensures no products are sent to landfill, RGS will deliver its most sustainable FF&E package ever.
RGS is committed to partnering with local and wider UK based businesses and see Birmingham 2022 as an opportunity to deliver value to the local community through targeted partnerships. As part of its legacy commitment, RGS Events will be donating part of its furniture package to local charities at the conclusion of the Games.
