The top events at Birmingham 2022 for the Great British summer
The Great British summer is fast approaching and if, like us, you can’t wait for the incredible summer of sport ahead of us in the region, we’ve got some great suggestions for our pick of the outdoor events on offer at Birmingham 2022.
Women’s Cricket T20 at Edgbaston Stadium
If you’re looking for a quintessentially British summer day out, why not snap up some tickets for the Women’s cricket T20 at Edgbaston? Birmingham 2022 will see cricket T20 feature at a Commonwealth Games for the first time in its history, and with the top eight women’s cricket teams in the world set to compete the competition is set to be a thriller. With morning and evening session tickets still available this one’s perfect for a family day out or an evening with your mates.

- Sunday 31 July, 11:00 – 14:30: India vs Pakistan
- Thursday 4 August, 18:00 – 21:30: England vs New Zealand
Lawn Bowls and Para Lawn Bowls at Victoria Park
Lawn Bowls and Para Lawn Bowls in Royal Leamington Spa’s Victoria Park is also set to make a great day out on a summer’s day. The venue is one of the best for Lawn Bowls in the country and annually hosts the Bowls England National Championship. The Commonwealth Games is regarded as one of the most prestigious events in the sport so if you’re looking to try a new sport for the first time, Lawn Bowls could be the perfect pick!

- Sunday 31 July, 15:00 – 20:15: six events including knockout matches in both men’s and women’s competition
- Tuesday 2 August, 08:30 – 15:00: eight events including men’s pair and women’s fours medal matches
Rugby 7s at Coventry Stadium
Rugby might usually be associated with muddy winter days, but 7s is the lightning fast version of the sport that’s perfectly suited to summer. Grab a group of mates and book in to the Sevens Stand to experience the summer party atmosphere.

- Friday 29 July, 17:30 – 22:00: join us for Friday night in the 7s Stand!
- Saturday 30 July, 09:00 – 13:30: the last day of the group matches
Beach Volleyball at Smithfield
And of course, it wouldn’t be summer without a trip to the beach. This year we’re bringing it to the heart of Birmingham as Smithfield hosts Birmingham 2022’s beach volleyball competition which looks set to be an unmissable tournament right in the city centre!

- Monday 1 August 14:30 – 17:30: take Monday off and head to the Birmingham beach!
- Saturday 6 August, 20:00 – 22:00: tickets are selling fast for the women’s semi finals
