About the role

The purpose of the role is to lead on the ticketing venue planning and delivery for the Games. The post holder will be responsible for ticketing planning and processes, venue plans and seating manifests, defining and placement of venue ticketing services and the management of ticket quotas across all client groups to ensure the budgeted ticketing revenue target is achieved. The post holder will work alongside other operational functions within the OC to create seating plans and manage seat assignments across all OC venues to deliver full venues across the Games.


Responsibilities

  • Ticketing Functional Area lead for all venue planning and delivery
  • Oversee the planning and processes of the ticketing operation during Games time
  • Contribute to the development of the Ticketing Operational Plan, including the on-sale planning and processes and Games time delivery
  • Proactively collaborate and develop a close working relationship with all relevant B2022 Functional Areas to develop and integrate the Ticketing Strategy and delivery plan
  • Work with the appointed Ticketing Service Provider to manage ticket sales for all sport competitions, ceremonies and other ticketed events and manage the overall ticket quotas across all client groups
  • Liaise with relevant internal functional areas on seat plans, quotas, sales processes and venue services
  • Liaise with the Commonwealth Games Federation on seat plans, quotas and seat allocations
  • Work with the Ticketing Service Provider to plan staffing and customer management protocol
  • Operate the quota management tools and track allocations
  • Track venue capacities and allocations to ensure ticket sales are maximised
  • Create and maintain venue seating plans and manage all client groups’ seat assignments to deliver full stadia across the Games
  • Deputise for the Head of Ticketing as required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Significant ticketing experience, including working for a large-scale organization or major sports event with a focus on sales, operational planning and delivery with excellent results
  • Knowledge of ticket planning and sales processes for multi-sport events
  • Management of ticket quotas across a multi-sport event
  • Experience of working with governing bodies
  • Experience with the latest ticketing technologies
  • Client management experience
  • Experience of working across internal and external departments and stakeholders
  • Line management experience
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary organisation and to build active, cooperative partnerships with external organisations in an integrated manner
  • Ability to creatively apply a high level of knowledge to devise bespoke strategies, delivered to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrable strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, the ability to influence others and manage relationships
  • Excel at an advanced/expert level
